Cyl Moeti was a natural born woman whose mother was a shipping clerk on Mars and whose father was a laborer.  Her mother was a strict disciplinarian.  While her mother viewed the Community for Contemporaneous Quaker Living to be socially lax, she recognized that the CQL Academy provided the best educational program on Mars.  After completing her general education at the CQL Academy, Cyl attended the Christine Green Military Academy on Ganymede.

Cyl proved herself within the Human Defense Force and was given command of the first Corsair Class Cruiser commissioned in late 2274.
